Activities include hiking, biking, kayaking, water workouts, strength training, and small group personal training. Enjoy outdoor fitness classes and learning opportunities – plus insightful conversations and workshops. Personal development, fitness and nutrition science are part of the master classes throughout your habit-changing stay.

Whistler Fitness Vacations includes lodging at the Westin Resort and Spa – category 7 Marriott property, with full kitchen. There’s a multiple activity schedule from Monday to Friday. Food is included with your stay.

weight loss camp hill climbWe keep our program intentionally small, with no more than 4 guests per session. You’ll never feel like you’re one of the crowd – quite the opposite! Over the past 12 years in operation, we’ve created a lovely wellness retreat that is both soul nourishing and purpose driven! It’s luxury while remaining low key, and results focused with top notch customer service. Sounds impossible, but we’ve created a beauty.

Typical Day

At our Whistler weight loss retreat we usually bike twice a week, hike three times a week and kayak once a week – with popup fitness classes between the activities of the day. Personal development, education and power workshops are also part of our weekly schedule.

Whistler Fitness Vacations are customized to fit the clients perfect vacation plan. These might include dog friendly custom guided hiking weeks, or beginner hiking tours for a couple of friends in Whistler for the weekend.

Day in the life

Wake up 6am, water and tea/coffee, head downstairs to health club to complete one mile self-test on treadmill. Return to room for 7am to have morning smoothie and stretch. Get ready for coaches meeting for 8.30am.

8.30-2pm scheduled activity

Progress update, briefing, questions, concerns followed by pace assignments based on your mile time. 9am depart for morning activity at the fitness retreat, example 2 hours higher intensity power hiking in the Brandywine Falls, visiting stunning old growth forests. Return to your room at Westin at 11.30 for lunch, check phone etc.

Noon, meet downstairs for reassignment of afternoon session based on how the morning went. If cardio quota (in the morning example it was 2 hours high intensity) was met, youve got 1 hour of moderate remaining. Sample assignment might be: 2km kayak fitness workout combined with a deep stretching session with your coach, on the dock.

After 2pm, free time

Return to the Westin for 2pm, team get-together updating workout journals and pep talk on realistic goal setting, or support on app tracking. Group planning for tomorrows bike tour of the three-lakes valley trail around Whistler. Beginner boot camp workout on the sandy volleyball park under snow-capped peaks.

From about 2.30pm youve got free time, take a nap, do your laundry, go into town, or meet the others for a glorious steam and hot tub. The health club is steps away from your guest room, with indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Cook dinner at 5pm, just like its your own Whistler apartment. Option to eat with other fitness retreat guests or on your own.

After dinner, read a book, watch Netflix, stretch, walk into town… or work on your passion project. Youll be craving a restful evening, catch an early night sleep. The next day, look at that – another pound lost – and youre motivated to do it all again.

Is this wellness retreat package right for you?
  1. You’re working towards 30 to 70 lb weight loss.
  2. Being lighter would improve your overall quality of life.
  3. Your flat treadmill mile at fastest walk, jog or run is between 13 and 25 minutes.
  4. Walking for up to two hours is enjoyable and pain free.
  5. You’ve had at least 35 birthdays and are female.
  6. Being active everyday in a small group of like-minded women excites you. You’re cool with group paces being based on the lowest ability level in our group of 4.
  7. No smoking, alcohol or food outside of our plan is a challenge you’re ready to take on!

What’s Included

Lodging at the Westin Resort and Spa, Whistler
Deluxe Studio Suite average room size is 400 sq ft with an open concept design that features a full kitchen with granite counter tops, LCD flat screen TV, gas fireplace in the living area, soaker tub and shower in the bathroom. Standard bedding configuration is on king or queen bed and on queen-size sofa bed, accommodating 4 person maximum. One Bedroom Suite average room size is 550 sq ft with a separate bedroom and living room, full kitchen with granite counter tops, dining areas for four, two LCD flat screen TV’s and a gas fireplace in the living room. All suites have deep soaker tubs and separate glass shower. Bedding configuration is one queen bed and one queen-size sofa bed, accommodating 4 people maximum. There’s an excellent business centre in your lodging, and golf driving range across the street.
Coached programming throughout your stay for fitness, nutrition, weight loss & personal development
Results, structure and workouts carefully curated for your requirements, with Cat Smiley coaching each guest through their body transformation. Includes small group life coaching, fitness, nutrition and personal development. Individually tailored action plan for your fitness, nutrition and lifestyle – that you feel confident continuing at home. 5 to 7 hours of daily guided exercise, coaching workshops & small group personal training, including 3 days comfort Cruiser bike, and 1 hour per week kayak. We power pack your 8.30am to 2pm schedule with guides that never go too fast or too slow – and trainer-led fitness classes that are carefully assigned. Your week is multiple activity, with 3 days of hiking/fitness classes, 2 days of biking/fitness classes, 1 hour kayak, and up to 3 hours of personal development/education workshops. This is between customized training, restoration activity and independent cardio that may be assigned to you for that day. There is no set schedule as it depends on factors such as your body’s response to the workouts, personal progress and requirements to achieve optimal goals.
Personalized, structured workouts at your level
Our staff-to-customer ratio is the best in the business, with semi-private groups carefully selected of no more than 4 participants per instructor (except for fitness classes). Groups change daily based on on-the-day performance and ability. Parameters to join are that you need to be outside of healthy weight range (or in medical remission, okay with the weight loss portion of the program) and of beginner-to-intermediate fitness levels. The pace is based on beginner-to-intermediate fitness, speed of the slowest person in the group, with pace splits with 4+ participants.

Complimentary wireless internet, unlimited use of the Westin Workout Fitness Studio pool, dry sauna, hot tubs and steam room. In-house spa services at an additional fee, located in the fitness studio. Hotel shuttle service to guests in and around Whistler Village, with childcare amenities available upon request.

During program hours, included transportation to trail heads may include our support van, biking, walking or hotel shuttle.
Dogs, friends and family stay free
Your room is private access (invite your family or friends to join you on the weekends!). There’s no extra charge for guests. The Westin is a dog friendly hotel – however during the scheduled programming 8am – 2.30pm pet daycare is required. This can be arranged with the hotel concierge.
Food ingredients that you cook yourself
Everyone has a full kitchen in their private guest room, where they cook their own meals, or dine in town. We freely give as much support and guidance as you need to keep you on track with your food choices throughout your stay, providing the meal plan and ingredients. You shop your own ingredients as part of the team grocery trip.

Specialty kitchen equipment such as juicer/blender/espresso machine/measuring scales. Peak 2 Peak lift pass, travel to and from Whistler, spa services, additional adventures/tours if desired.
